food etc.

Aldi and Lidl
The German based Aldi and Lidl supermarkets finally also opened their Dublin branches. Here you can get any kind of food much much cheaper than in any other store in Ireland. Since both have grown so big that they can choose from a wide variety of suppliers the quality of their products is usually excellent. Watch out for long queues but also fast cashiers. Tip: Try Lidl's frozen pepperoni pizza - it's awsome!

Fruit and Veggie Market
If you are looking for really, really cheap fruits and vegetables you should go the market near O'Connol Str. You can get 12 bananas for 1€, several kilos of potatoes for 1€ or 15 tomatoes fo - 1€. Everything from exotic fruits to "normal" veggies is usually of good quality. Just watch the guy selling you your apples! He might hide some older ones under the shiny new ones.

2 Euro Store
There is one in Ilac Center and on in ... Street. Here you can find the usual gimmicky stuff like glow-in-the-dark-crucifixes, Harry Potter wands or Halloween skulls. Less fun but maybes more useful is the food/ ... aisle. Food shopping will be reduced to candy. But you can get goodbargains on branded deodorants, toothpaste, showe ges and the like.
